Former New York Gov. George Pataki, a likely Republican presidential hopeful, unveiled a steering committee Thursday as he works to raise his profile in New Hampshire.
Pataki, who is campaigning in northern New Hampshire on Thursday, also announced his “We the People, Not Washington” PAC is opening an office at 62 Lowell St. in Manchester.
Ben Carson launches exploratory committee
Dr. Ben Carson on Tuesday announced an exploratory committee for a possible presidential run in 2016, and he will be coming soon to New Hampshire.
The Carson America exploratory committee website banner includes the words, “Unite Heal Thrive,” a nod to the conservative Republican’s celebrated career as a neurosurgeon and his vision for the country.
Mike Huckabee super PAC launched
uper PACs that can raise unlimited donations have become the must-have accessory in many 2016 presidential campaigns. Republican Mike Huckabee, it seems, is the latest to claim his own.
Veteran Iowa political operative Nick Ryan will be president of the group, dubbed Pursuing America’s Greatness, The New York Times reports. Ryan did not immediately respond to an interview request.

At his big debut in Iowa as a bona fide presidential candidate, Texas U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz said Wednesday he aims to win over big slices of the GOP as well as conservative Democrats, even as he zeroed in on some controversial social issues, demanded reforms he says some view as “radical,” and criticized some of his fellow Republicans as weak-willed.
